SATURDAY OCTOBER 29TH THRILL DAY INFO:
CHANGE OF VENUE FOR 10PM THRILL TIME FROM CONEY ISLAND TO 440 STUDIOS!
We were supposed to dance in Coney Island but it SNOWED in New York and we had to change locations from dancing on the boardwalk in CONEY ISLAND to dancing in a dance studio at the last minute. People still came out to participate even though they had to walk thru the snow and sleet to get to us. True dedication to this event is shown in our videos:
Thrill The World New York City is a New York team that is part of the worldwide attempt to set the new world record for the largest simultaneous dance ever. To make this happen we will teach anyone (regardless of age, ethnicity, silliness etc) how to do the dance.
TTWNYC is not a professional dance group but a team of fun loving people from all walks of life. TTWNYC’s mission strives to encourage service-giving through the art of music and dance. We look forward to using these universal commonalities to encourage individuals of all ages to engage in creative service projects. The team was started in April of 2009 by Amada Anderson. Why? Because it’s cool and because she wanted to learn thriller and thought everyone else did too.
Please enjoy a clip from our Michael Jackson Tribute Dinner/Fundraiser:
TTWNYC participated for the first time on October 24th at 8:30pm in 2009 and represented with 97 zombie dancers in Astoria Park, Queens. Thrill The World 2009 had 278 registered events from 32 countries combining worldwide a total of 22,923 zombies. We broke The Record Holders Republic Record for Largest Simultaneous Thriller Dance as well as rose over $85,000 USD for 80 different charities. Our event collectively was able to raise $500 for a charity called Vh1 Save The Music! The VH1 Save The Music foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in American Public Schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.
Please enjoy our video from 2009.
